Kinbaku Studies
A focused evening of in-depth learning and safe rope practice in suspension

This event is dedicated to rope practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of Kinbaku through the lens of suspension — not just as a technical challenge, but as an evolving art form and method of communication between rigger and model.

Suspension in shibari is often seen as a milestone — a thrilling and intense experience that demands precision, trust, and presence. But behind every beautiful suspension is a deep body of knowledge: about tension, structure, anatomy, emotional awareness, and timing. This evening is for those who are ready to explore that depth.

We will work with full or partial suspensions, depending on your level, but always with a mindset of mindful practice. This is not about rushing into advanced patterns for the sake of aesthetics. Instead, Kinbaku Studies emphasizes:

  • Refining the quality of your ties: How well does your rope communicate? Is your harness doing its job functionally and beautifully?

  • Understanding body mechanics in the air: What does your partner need to feel safe, supported, and seen?

  • Developing rhythm, flow, and timing: Suspension is not static — it's a dance of weight, breath, and shared intention.

  • Building emotional and psychological connection: What story are you telling through your rope? Are you truly with your partner in the scene?

Safety and consent remain at the core of everything we do. Suspension work introduces higher risks, which means a strong technical foundation is not optional — it's essential. Participants should already be comfortable with safe, stable harnesses, know how to check nerve safety, and be confident in their ability to manage a suspension line and respond to their partner’s signals.

This evening offers you a space to ask questions and receive feedback in a supportive and non-competitive atmosphere. Whether you’re aiming to refine a specific tie, explore transitions, or deepen your presence in rope, Kinbaku Studies is a space for focused, respectful exploration.

Bring your curiosity, your experience, and your willingness to learn not just “how” to suspend, but “why.” Because in Kinbaku, technique is only the beginning — the real depth lies in what we create together through it.

The communication is organised in a Telegram Group Chat.
